VISA Treasury Report 24 June 2005

Dear VISA members,

Firstly, I would like to thank to you all for your contributions to VISA fund. This fund is essential to finance VISA's various activities, particularly the following major events during this term of VISA board:

2004 July Barrosa trip (Adelaide - $831.20)
2004 April BBQ (SA - $303)
2004 November BBQ (Flinders - $286.75)
and specially the Tet celebration ($895.90)

After the Tet celebration, VISA fund balance was $387. However, with VISA members' contributions for first semester 2005, we were able to finance the April BBQ hosted by Adelaide Uni ($409.50) and currently, VISA fund balance is $1043, the highest ever balance we've achieved B) . This certainly will make our celebration for the coming 5th birthday of VISA possible.

$100 was also used to donate to "Quy Vi Nguoi Ngheo" (Aug 2004). We hope that the coming establishment of VISA charity fund will enable us to further support Vietnam, an important objective of VISA.

Further, the garden party at Dr. Hai house and the springrolls sale on the 30 Apr 2005 supported by VISA and The Australia-Vietnam Society generated total revenue of $1599.60. After the $1309.92 donation to some Vietnamese Victims of Agent Orange (thanks to Mr. Hoi and Mrs Diep), our VAOs fund still has $289.68.

VISA members would also like to thank our vice-presidents for their effort to collect members' contributions. It's certainly not an easy job  :ste: . I do hope that with the increased awareness of VISA contributions along with your support to VISA, future collections will not take too much time and effort of our vice-presidents.

As this is nearly the beggining of a new semester, I would like to take this opportunity also to announce the contribution to VISA fund for the second half of 2005. Please make your contributions to our new vice-presidents as soon as you can. The contact details of them (along with their bank account details  :ph34r: ) will be provided after the coming election.

Other VISA members who haven't got an opportunity to contribute for the first semester, you are welcome to make the contribution for a whole year (interest exempted)  :whi: .
